What is Nurture Fitness?

Postnatal exercise and baby massage in one class, perfect for mums with babies under 8 months.

After the 45-minute postnatal exercise we use baby massage and fun sensory activities to bond and connect with baby.

This class is for both of you and includes time to catch up with the other mums.


Postnatal Fitness for Mum

We workout to intervals to burn body-fat and build strength for daily mum life with safe postnatal exercises, using weights and resistance bands. 

We incorporate core and pelvic floor exercises into the workout which helps to repair and strengthen a weakened pelvic floor and core.

The classes are suitable for all fitness levels and any postnatal issues will always be taken into consideration when planning the class and providing options.

Baby Massage & Movement to Music

  • The baby part of the session is designed for babies 0-8 months.
  • Baby Massage Routines – help colic, wind, teething and connect with your baby.
  • Movement to Music – fun songs, parachute play, sensory play and movement to music to have fun with baby.

Postnatal Exercise Safety

Everyone’s birth and recovery is unique and you should only start to move more when you feel ready to do so, it’s best not to rush and to listen to your body.

Once you feel ready and have agreement from your GP that you are safe to exercise then we would love to guide you through safe exercise.

For a c-section birth it’s recommended that you wait until you are at least 12 weeks postnatal before taking part in exercise.

It is essential that you have had your postnatal check-up with your GP and completed our health form before attending any sessions.

What should I wear?

Comfortable and cool layers / fitness clothing with trainers.

What do I need to bring for the baby massage part of the class?

We provide blankets and toys for the babies but feel free to bring your own too. We also provide coconut oil for the baby massage part of the class.

What should I bring to the session?

Plenty of drinking water.
Baby’s favourite comforter or toy.
Everything you would usually leave the house with for you and baby.
